Book Characters Have Feelings Too

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

They really do! At least, if you write them well enough they do. Want to write characters that your readers will have such an emotional bond to that they will cry and throw your book across the room when bad things happen to them? I'll show you how I do it in my Character Development workshop on February 25th!

Click the "Register Now" button in the workshop post on my home page to sign up. This will be a live Zoom workshop, so pajamas and blankets are strongly encouraged.

Speaking of characters that tug at your heart strings, the companions from To Save a World are coming back for the sequel, The Queen Witch, this spring. Still shooting to publish it in April this year. I will also be releasing the second edition of To Save a World in May with a brand new cover, interior page layout and re-edited. The covers will be a matching series set. I am so excited to share their new adventure with you!

The characters were much less excited and threatened to quit a couple hundred times because I really put them through the ringer this time. We worked it out though, and I am happy to report they have agreed to continue with the series even though I continue to put them in situations that threaten their physical and mental well being.

Check out my website/blog, Instagram (@hollisjomccollum), facebook and podcast (I Do What I Want!) for regular updates. Next podcast episode will air on Sunday, January 29th. See you there!
